Adolfas Ramanauskas-Vanagas, Commander of the Partisan Region of Southern Lithuania, Commander of the Defense Forces of the Lithuanian Freedom Fighting Movement (LLKS), was born in 1918. The monument was created by the sculptor Jonas Jagėla.
