Routes in Lazdijai region:
1. Veisiejai - Kapčiamiestis. Historical and cultural heritage. The excursion begins from the Snaigynas Lake observation tower. In Veisiejai you will get acquainted with the history of the city, St. George's Church, the manor, you will visit places related to Jewish life in this city. You will visit the place where LL Zamanchof lived, and you will have the opportunity to read an Esperanto text at the monument to the creator of the Esperanto language in the territory of the Veisiejai Manor Park.
In Vainežeris you will begin your journey by following the footsteps of E. Pliaterytė's last journey all the way to Kapčiamiestis. In Vainežeris you will walk through the manor park. If you wish, you can also visit the ancient fortifications called "Okopka".
In Kapčiamiestis, you will visit the Church of Divine Providence, the central square of the town with a monument to E. Pliaterytė.
2. Krikštonys - Seirijai - Meteliai - Meteliai Regional Park. You will visit the Krikštonys sacral complex, the J. Reitelaitis house-museum. In Seiriyai, you will visit the birthplace of A.Žmuidzzinavičius, visit the Church of the Holy Virgin Mary of the Scapular, walk around the beautifully maintained town, and visit the A.Žmuidzinavičius Museum in Seiriyai Gymnasium. You will go to Meteliai. The town welcomes you with an observation tower. This is a great opportunity to view the surroundings from above. In the town, you will visit the Church of the Transfiguration of Christ. You will travel to Meteliai Regional Park, get acquainted with the exhibition of the visitor center. You will admire the views. You will travel to the Sanctuary of the Crosses. You will climb the Prelomciškės Mound.
