Vainežeris Park

Nature

The Vainežeris Manor Park covers an area of 12 hectares. The majority of the territory is occupied by various types of trees and shrubs, as well as the trees of the old garden. It is one of the most attractive tourist attractions not only in the Veisiejai Regional Park, but also in the entire Lazdijai district. In the 18th century, a manor house and farm buildings stood here, but over time they deteriorated. The park was established 200 years ago, but has been left to the care of nature for 50 years. The park is divided in half by Lake Vainežeris. The western part of the park is dominated by open spaces, which are separated by groups of trees and shrubs. There are many maples, ash trees, hornbeams, as well as foreign trees: gray fir and European larch. The territory of the former Vainežeris Manor Park can be divided into three parts. The first is the southwestern part, which contains the entrance to the park, paths, around which the park's greenery is located, a parking lot, and an information stand. The second part is the lake and the surrounding greenery. The third part is the eastern part with greenery and a meadow, the Tree Museum. An interesting educational trail has been installed in the park.

Old trees are rich in saplings, where various species of birds nest, bats and swarms of domestic bees settle in the summer. In an open meadow, surrounded by an oval-shaped alley, clay structures for wild bees have been built. In this manor in 1831. captain, participant in the uprising, countess E. Pliaterytė died. A monument was erected in her honor in the park of Vainežeris manor (sculptor Evaldas Pauza)

Since 2007, the Vainežeris Manor Park has been protected as a natural heritage site.
