The mound with the settlement is located on a separate cone-shaped hill. The slopes of the mound are steep, 5–12 m high. The upper part of the slopes was built steeper. The mound site is 30 m long and 20 m wide. It is surrounded on all sides by an embankment 0.5–1.5 m high. Archaeologists P. Kulikauskas and V. Daugutis conducted research at the Elveriškė mound in the 1950s and 1960s. Flower pot shards, some decorated with an embossed ornament of parallel lines, were found during archaeological excavations .
