The museum was founded in 1998. It contains exhibits reflecting the history of the Veisiejai school, telling about the exile of the people of this region and other twists and turns in the history of the region. The exhibits include material about the ophthalmologist, creator of the international Esperanto language Ludwig Lazarus Zamenhof, who came to work in Veisiejai in 1885 and completed the creation of the Esperanto language here, organist, composer Juozas Neimontas, and poet Sigitas Gedas.

June 1 - August 31:
Opening hours: Mon–Fri 9 am–5 pm, Fri 9 am–3:45 pm.
September 1 - May 30:
Opening hours: Mon–Thurs 9am–5pm, Fri 9am–3:45pm.
