Būdvietis - a village in the territory of Lazdijai district municipality, in the Būdvietis eldership, 15 km southwest of Lazdijai, 4 km north of the Polish border. There is the Church of Jesus the Nazarene (built in 1906), a post office, a paramedic and midwife station, a culture house, a library, a barn (built in 1803) and the Sperskės mausoleum chapel (built in the 19th century) - architectural monuments. An elementary school was established in 1918, a junior high school from 1945, a seven-year, eight-year, nine-year school from 1950–1998, and a high school from 1998–2015. The Būdvietis manor was mentioned in 1744. From 1954–63, Būdvietis was the center of the district.
