Today, February 16 - the day of the restoration of the state of Lithuania, we celebrate by getting to know Lazdiju and the history of this city. The "Step of Freedom" tour in Lazdijai took many of us back in time. We visited some of the most visited objects in the city of Lazdia: the former Jewish Synagogue of Lazdia, Adolfos Ramanauskas Vanag Square and the monument there, we heard how special St. Anna's Church, where the first Lithuanian flag was raised, the Freedom Struggle Museum, where the NKVD and KGB structures operated, remembers the terrible times. The last stop is Lazdijai Independence Square and the Lazdijai Independence Monument. During the excursion, Lazdijai district. weekly the public health office held a quiz, prizes awaited those who answered correctly! We are happy with the large number of participants! 6th-8th grade students of Punskas Darius and Girėnas primary school with their teachers also took part in the excursion.
