March 11, the day of the restoration of Lithuania's Independence, will be celebrated in a special way in Lazdijai this year. Collectives from Druskininkai, Varėna, Alytus, Birštonas, Punskas, Seina, Lazdijas will gather here. In the festive concert, we will see the programs prepared for the centenary Song Festival. A unique, abundant and colorful event with songs and dances awaits us all.
"The Song Festival is a celebration of the whole of Lithuania, so we will start celebrating its centenary in the regions, thanking the former and current spreaders of this great tradition," says Saulius Liausa, director of the Lithuanian National Cultural Center, the organizer of the festival. - in 2024 For the Lithuanian Song Festival, we have chosen the theme "Let the forest be green" and in its programs we will talk about all forms of life, about how important it is to preserve cultural phenomena that are dear to us and admired by the whole world. In order for the tradition of song festivals to be preserved and alive, the involvement of the whole of Lithuania is essential. We will celebrate this involvement in the events of the march."
