Hiking "Spring Trails to Nature" in Veisiejai Regional Park

Nature has woken up from its winter sleep – everything is gradually starting to turn green, and we invite you to catch the sun’s rays and get to know the values of Veisiejai Regional Park while hiking! Ančia Landscape Reserve is one of the most expressive areas in the park, revealing the relief and landscape formed by glacier activity in the Veisiejai region. The largest lake in the park – Ančia, is located here, on the shore of which lies the ancient settlement of Mėčiūnai, also known as Pustelnykos ragus. The defensive fortification “Okopka” commemorates the 17th–18th centuries. when wars with Sweden and Russia took place, and nearby is one of the oldest manor parks in Lithuania – Vainežeris Manor Park with centuries-old linden, elm and linden alleys, which commemorates the memory of the warrior Emilija Pliaterytė. This is a hike where nature, cultural heritage and history intertwine.
