The public enterprise "Lazdijai Tourism Information Centre" was established on April 1, 1999 by the decision of the Lazdijai District Municipality Council. It was one of the first institutions of this kind in Lithuania.
The Lazdijai Tourism Information Centre has been working for more than 20 years to enable as many Lithuanians and the world as possible to discover the treasures of the Lazdijai region. It collects and provides information about the attractions and tourism services of the Lazdijai region, creates tourist routes, prepares and distributes tourist information publications, and distributes souvenirs representing the Lazdijai region. The Tourism Information Centre represents the Lazdijai region at festivals in major Lithuanian cities and international tourism exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad.
In 2008, a brand new building of the tourist information center on the Lithuanian-Polish border opened its doors. The modern tourist information center on the border represents not only the Lazdijai region, but also the whole of Lithuania for travelers. This is the first stop in Lithuania for travelers from Europe, North and South America, where they are met by smiling and always ready to help center employees. Travelers who visit here find free information publications about the attractions, accommodation and catering facilities, entertainment and routes of the Lazdijai region and various other Lithuanian cities and regions. The center also has a spacious hall for conferences, meetings, trainings and various presentations. The windows of the modern hall offer wonderful views of nature, the sun's rays shine on the green pine needles, thus creating a special aura. This is a place where decisions come unexpectedly easily and new ideas are born. The hall is cozy and comfortable, can accommodate up to 60 people at a time, and multimedia equipment is available. The building is adapted for people with mobility disabilities.
