In 1974–1984, the parish priest of Šlavantai Church of the Annunciation of the Lord to the Most Holy Virgin Mary was Juozas Zdebskis (1929–1986), a prominent dissident of the second half of the 20th century and a fighter for the rights of believers. The memorial exhibition of Priest Juozas Zdebskis is located in the renovated rectory where he lived. The priest's liturgical vestments and personal belongings are on display.
