Duck Lake

Nature

Lake Ančias is the largest lake in the territory of Veisiejai Regional Park. It covers an area of 490.8 ha, and the length of the shoreline from one end to the other reaches as much as 12 km. The parks of Vainežeris and Veisiejai manors, which have dendrological value, are protected near the lake. 13 species of fish are caught in Lake Ančias: bream, roach, pike, perch, tench, cod, roach, flounder, bream, rudd, rudd, catfish, and eels. Next to this lake is the town of Veisiejai, where you can visit the Church of St. George (called the Cathedral of Dzūkija), the Visitor Center of Veisiejai Regional Park, the Veisiejai Regional Museum, several sculpture parks, a botanical natural heritage site - the Veisiejai Manor Ash, monuments dedicated to the creator of the Esperanto language L.L. Zamenhof, the winner of the Lithuanian National Culture and Art Prize S. Geda, and the composer J. Neimontas. From May to September, you can admire the fountain with a light and sound installation at Duck Lake. You can also try the hiking trail along the shore of Duck Lake or take a walk along the Magic Duck Route.
