Providing socio-cultural services in the city of Lazdijai

Public Institution "Lazdijai Tourism Information Center"   won the project "Provision of Socio-Cultural Services in the City of Lazdijai" (Project No. 11-760-K-0001). The financing agreement signed with the Central Project Management Agency (CVPA) on July 22, 2025, gives the start to the first implementation of activities under the new 2023-2029 Lazdijai City LAG Strategy.

The project was prepared in accordance with the 2023-2029 Local Development Strategy of the City of Lazdijai. Objective 1: to promote the active inclusion of the residents of the city of Lazdijai, in order to address the current problems of poverty and exclusion of the population, and the 1st task of this objective: "Apply preventive measures to socially vulnerable and socially at-risk individuals by implementing community-initiated activities aimed at reducing the existing social exclusion of the population."

The aim of the project is to provide socio-cultural services to seniors experiencing social difficulties, in order to reduce their social exclusion and loneliness, strengthen the sense of community through knowledge of history, culture and nature and active transfer of experience, contributing to the creation of an attractive environment in the city of Lazdijai. The project is implemented together with the partner Lazdijai City Eldership Community Committee.

Total project value: EUR 34,668.00, of which EUR 29,464.33 is provided by the European Union, and EUR 5,203.67 is provided by the Lazdijai District Municipality.

During the project, 4 different socio-cultural services will be provided: "Art Therapy", "Experiential Activities "Stories under the Sky of the Lazdijai Region", "Community Hikes "On Elk Trails", "Inspiring Conversations". The project is innovative, designed to increase the supply of socio-cultural services, ensuring their accessibility, and developing social and socio-cultural services for socially vulnerable and socially at-risk individuals. After implementing the project activities, the physical and mental health of 36 unique service recipients will improve, and their inclusion in the life of the city's society will increase.
