On the occasion of World Maternal Mental Health Day, a special event is being organized in Lazdijai, designed to draw attention to the well-being of mothers and not only create a supportive community, but also to nurture it daily.
On May 11, at 3 p.m., all mothers and those who care about their well-being are invited to meet at the Lazdijai Sports Center, Lazdijos St. 5, Lazdijai.
We walk together because being together strengthens us, so we invite not only mothers, but also everyone who cares about the well-being of mothers to join us.
- At the beginning of the event, Aistė Sarokienė, founder of the family studio "Labastogiai", will deliver a welcoming speech.
- After the official part, participants will be invited to get moving - there will be a short exercise session led by a specialist from the Lazdijai District Public Health Office.
- After the active part, all participants will travel along the picturesque paths of the park towards the Lazdijai Hippodrome, where horse therapy and activities of the children's creativity development studio "Kuria vaikai" will await everyone.
- While the children enjoy playing games, mothers will listen to a talk organized by the Public Health Bureau - "When you hold a baby in your arms, who supports you? Mother's emotional health from expectations to stereotypes", the report will be read by Nida Vildžiūnaitė, Head of the Postpartum Depression Center. A mother, Look Deeper Mental Health Ambassador, will share her experience.
- Throughout the event, children will be kept company by the energetic "Living Toys" animator Širdukas.
- The event will end with a cozy picnic hosted by the organizers.
- The organizers invite you to bring comfortable clothing and footwear, and don't forget to have a change of clothes for the little ones for the "Kuria vaikai" activities.
This march is part of a broader initiative aimed at creating a safe environment for mothers, bringing the community together, and promoting emotional health and connection among women.
The organizers speak openly about the often silent postpartum depression and other challenges of motherhood.
The event is free and open to all mothers and their families.
