The Lazdijai Regional Museum is exhibiting the mobile exhibition of the Vytautas the Great War Museum "The Holy Warrior. St. George in Works of Art".
The exhibition "St. George" represents reproductions of folk and professional works of art and sacred art from the 19th and 20th centuries.
Two thousand years later, St. George, a warrior of the Roman Empire, a Christian martyr, a saint who, according to legend, defeated the evil dragon - a symbol of evil, still lives in the consciousness of people. He is not only the patron saint of cities, knights, gunners and soldiers of many countries, but also a source of inspiration for artists. The exhibition is dedicated to the second, after St. Casimir, the militant patron saint of Lithuania, St. George, to whom compatriots have been praying for a long time.
