Project "Academy of Experiences"

The association "Lazdijai Leisure Club" together with its partners - the Lazdijai District Kučiūnai Village Community Committee and the Public Institution "Lazdijai Tourism Information Centre" - is implementing the project "Academy of Experiences", funded under the local development strategy measure "Strengthening the activity, community spirit and capabilities of rural residents" of the Dzūkija Rural Development Partners Association (Dzūkija LAG) (project No. LAZD-LEADER-20VVG-09-05).

The goal of the project is to promote the inclusion and creativity of youth and socially vulnerable people through educational activities related to traditional crafts and handicrafts, thus strengthening community spirit and local cultural heritage.

Activities: Five creative educations will take place over a period of 8 months, during which participants will learn about traditional crafts and make: soap from natural materials, soap flower bouquets, Christmas wreaths, felt products, and handmade wicker and decorated baskets.

Each education will combine theoretical and practical parts - from learning about traditions to creative application in modern life. Participants will be taught the principles of sustainable use of materials, creative recycling, and environmental protection.

Expected results: The project will help young people and socially vulnerable people acquire new skills, promote their creativity, social integration and community spirit. The activities will contribute to the preservation of local traditions, the promotion of cultural heritage and the development of creative tourism in the Lazdijai district. Project value: 4,400 EUR Of which 3,960 EUR – EU and Republic of Lithuania budget funds (90%), 440 EUR – applicant’s contribution (10%). Place of implementation: Miškinių k. and Saločių k., Kučiūnų sen., Lazdijai district. The project is implemented by: Association “Lazdijai laisvailiakio klubas”

The project is financed from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and the budget of the Republic of Lithuania, implementing the Lithuanian Strategic Plan for Agriculture and Rural Development 2023–2027.
