Presentation event of the collection of literary texts for children "Read Easily"

We invite teachers, special educators, librarians and other specialists working with children with reading difficulties to the presentation event of a collection of fiction texts for children "Read Easily" prepared in easy-to-understand language.
The event will take place on November 21, 2025 at 10 a.m., in the Conference Hall of the Lazdijai Public Library. The publication "Read Easily" and its application in everyday life will be presented by Rūta Norkūnė, one of the compilers of the text collection "Read Easily" published by the Vilnius County Adomas Mickevičius Public Library and the editor of texts in easy-to-understand language, educator, author of educational books for children.
"Read Easily" is a collection of fiction texts for children rewritten in an easy-to-understand language, which includes works by Jonas Biliūnas, Šatrija Ragana, Gendručis Morkūnas, Bitė Vilimaitė and Antanas Vaičiulaitis that are relevant to the 5th-6th grade school curriculum. The main characters of all the works included in the collection of texts are children, and the stories of the selected texts reflect the world of childhood, feelings and everyday experiences.
This publication differs from regular collections of children's fiction in that the texts are rewritten in easy-to-understand language and are intended for readers who have difficulty reading or comprehending text. "Read Easily" can also be useful for children with cognitive difficulties, autism spectrum disorders or intellectual disabilities, bilingual students, and children who are still developing their reading skills.
The event participants will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the methodology of easy-to-understand language and its application in preparing fiction texts in easy-to-understand language. During the presentation, you will learn how to strengthen inclusion by integrating "Read Easily" texts in lessons or library activities, you will hear practical ideas on how to apply these publications in education, reading promotion activities, and developing self-confidence through reading in children experiencing reading or text comprehension difficulties.
The free publication, which was published in physical format, has until now only been available in electronic format. During the presentation, it will be possible to familiarize yourself with the new paper version of this publication.
