Sensory exhibition "In the Shoes of Lithuanian Partisans": when history speaks through sound, smell and touch.
The Museum of Freedom Struggles will host an exhibition of the senses "In the Shoes of Lithuanian Partisans" from November 5 to November 29, inviting you not only to see but also to feel history. This is not an ordinary exhibition - it is a journey into the past, where every sound, smell or touch becomes a bridge to the world of partisans.
The author of the exhibition, Rūta Rimšelienė, is a footwear designer, historian and researcher who dared to look at the post-war era through an unexpected but extremely impressive perspective – shoes. Footwear, its accessories, shoelaces, and wax-scented sole blanks become not objects but symbols – testifying to the experiences of the Freedom Fighters, their choices, sacrifice and fortitude.
This exhibition is not only a work of art, but also therapy. It shocks, makes you breathe more slowly, listen to the silence between sounds. It invites you not only to see, but also to feel – that is why it is intended not only for the sighted, but also for the blind. This is a rare case when history becomes accessible to everyone through the senses, and not just through facts or dates.

The exhibition "In the Shoes of Lithuanian Partisans" is a sensitive reminder that freedom has its price, and every trace of it is a path walked with blood and sweat.

This exhibition will be open in Lazdijai from November 5 to 29, and on November 5 at 12 noon, its opening and meeting with the author Rūta Rimšeliene will take place - a creator who managed to turn history into a symphony of sensations.
This is not just an exhibition. This is a confrontation with our own conscience, memory, and freedom.
