We invite you to immerse yourself in the life of the Dzūkija village, to remember for some, and to get to know for others, its true flavor, sometimes hard work, but a heart full of joy and sincere gratitude.
What to expect?
As soon as you arrive at the homestead, you will be greeted in the local dialect by a pleasant hostess who will not only introduce you to the subtleties of the Dzūkija village, but also invite you to immerse yourself in the daily life of the time. Together with her, in an educational way, you will perform the necessary field and household chores and take care of the farm.
A private space in the barn, reserved just for you, will help you get even more into the life of that time. There you will not find anything resembling comfort, luxury or electricity, just an old bed with a hay mattress, a bench and grain bins (this is a place where girls and boys who were hired to do work used to rest).
As the sun sets, your gaze will turn towards the side, where fragrant and soft hay awaits you, and an even sweeter night's sleep awaits you on it, in the embrace of fluffy and linen bedding.
This experiential educational program is an invitation to stop and re-imagine the most important day we have – today. To learn from our ancestors who gave meaning to each day through their work, friendship with nature, and faith.
