Regional Parks 30th Anniversary Festival

Festival location: Veiseijai Manor Park

  • In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of Lithuanian regional parks, the State Service of Protected Areas invites everyone to the festival that will be held on September 2 in Veisiejai Manor Park. Representatives of all 30 regional parks will be waiting for you at the festival, who will present the unique values of regional parks, advise you on what to visit and see in Lithuanian regional parks. We will invite children and adults to participate in green education, where you will not only learn the most interesting things about the values of regional parks, but while having fun you will complete tasks, collect stamps and win prizes established by the State Protected Areas Service. The participants of the education will guess the riddles of the bottom of the Kaunas lagoon, try to identify the types of trees, compete in the collection of huge puzzles, chat and play games with the symbols of the regional parks - the turtle, the cuckoo and the lynx.
  • From 19:00 Aistė Smilgevičiūtė and Rokas Radzevičiaus, Thundertale and Linas Adomaitis musical performances inspired by nature and merging with nature.
  • There are 30 regional parks in Lithuania - Anykščiai, Asvejas, Aukštadvaris, Biržai, Dubysa, Dieveniškii historical, Gražutė, Kaunas mariai, Krekenava, Kurtuvėnai, Labanor, Metelii, Nemunas delta, Neris, Nemunas kilpė, Pagramaničius, Pajūris, Panemunii, Pavilnii, Rambyno, Salantai, Sartai, Sirvėta, Tytuvėnai, Varnii, Veisiei, Venta, Verkii, Vištytis, Žagarė - located throughout our region. Parks protect the most valuable and picturesque areas of Lithuania.
  • Regional parks were established at the time when the environmental protection system of the independent state was being created. 30 years ago, it was proposed to establish complex protected areas - regional parks. 30 regional parks were established at the same time - by the decision of the Supreme Council in 1992.
  • Regional parks are protected areas established from a natural, cultural and recreational point of view to protect landscape complexes and ecosystems of regional importance, and to regulate their recreational and economic use. Regional parks occupy more than half of the area of all protected areas.
