Yesterday, on the occasion of the Day of the Restoration of the State of Lithuania, an excursion "Together-Freedom Road" was held with guide Jonas Malinauskas. We traveled from Lazdijai Independence Square to A. Ramanauskas - Vanagos Square, visited St. Anna's church. At the place where the first Lithuanian flag was raised in Lazdijai, we lit commemorative candles for the Knights of the Cross of the Vytis Cross of Lazdijai County during the 1919-1920 independence struggle: Grigorijus Majorovas (1889-1916), Jonas Navickas (1899-1975), Petras Vitkauskas (1896-1922), Jonas Žmuidzinavičius (1894 -1942), Kostas Žukauskas (1899-1958) and to the volunteers of the independence struggle of 1919-1920 in the town of Lazdija. And the last and most memorable place of the excursion is the Freedom Struggle Museum. The interactive expositions, remembering the horrors and tragic fates of the past, involved all the participants of the tour, and after staying in the prison cells in the basement, shivers ran through the body. The sounds heard in the museum, the stories, the post-war songs, the intertwined images of the past and the present seen in the aged mirrors took the breath away and left no one indifferent.
