ANGELĖ ŠIMOLIŪNIENĖ
I was born in Pasvalys. I studied at Pasvalys Secondary School. I have been drawing since childhood. I was a romantic, I liked literature, poetry, so I entered Vilnius to study Lithuanian language and literature. While working as a teacher of Lithuanian language and literature at Panevėžys “Vyturys” Secondary School, I also entered Klaipėda Academy of Music to study directing. I had a drama studio, staged 32 performances. I was awarded a medal by the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture for my contribution to Lithuanian culture. I worked as a teacher of Lithuanian language and literature for 22 years, a director for 16 years, and left school because I felt deep inside that I had to leave, something new had to start in my life. I turned a new page in life. I remembered that I had a nursing diploma, so I decided to deepen my medical knowledge in Eastern medicine. I studied Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, art therapy and neuroeducation, psychology, and Art and Art History.
I participated in international conferences on traditional and alternative medicine, prepared reports. I have received the Order of St. Princess Olga for educational activities and helping people.
I raised 3 sons, whom I am proud of because they grew up to be honest and hardworking. Our children come to us through us, we raise them and release them into life to continue on their own path. So my works are like my children. They came through me and I release them into the world. They are dear to me because they opened a broader perspective on the world and what is beyond it. I paint when inspiration comes, when I feel energy. I have been painting with acrylics for ten years. There have already been 57 personal exhibitions of paintings in Lithuania. I have participated in competitions and exhibitions abroad. My paintings have been included in books, art catalogs and magazines.
